World Health Day 2009 Celebration at the Regional

Activity
The World Health Day Programme featured messages from the Staff Association by Mr Dan Luzentales and from the OIC of WPRO, Dr Henk Bekedam. This was followed by videos presented for World Health Day: "Save lives! Make Hospitals Safe in Emergencies." The first video was a 30-second film from the Headquarters; the second was a 2-minute film produced by WPRO. The programme then ended with the traditional international potluck.

Advocacy
Advocacy kits and souvenir items were distributed to the staff. The souvenir items included stickers, pins, and a field emergency kit. The advocacy kits included materials for the media, hospital administrators, policymakers, and the general public. These kits were distributed along with safe hospitals posters to our Member States.
