The Stop TB Unit in WHO’s Western Pacific Regional Office (STB WPRO) is comprised of experts in the areas of intensified case-finding, operational research, laboratory strengthening, TB/HIV co-infection, Multi-drug Resistant TB, infection control and TB surveillance. All work is guided by the Regional Strategy.

WHAT WE DO

In-line with WHO’s core functions, Stop TB Western Pacific Region’s primary role is to provide leadership, normative guidance and technical assistance to countries as they develop and implement their National TB Strategies; to convene partners for a comprehensive approach to TB control; and to articulate evidence-based policy options.

REGIONAL INITIATIVES

All of Stop TB’s activities are aligned with the 5 Objectives of the Regional Strategy 2011-2015. Part of STB WPRO’s role is to provide guidance to countries and develop tools that can be used to better implement National Strategic Plans.
