9. Currency regulations and exchange
Imports of Japanese yen and other foreign currencies is unlimited. Notice to customs must be submitted for importing or exporting JPY 1.0 million or more. As of 8 April 2002, the currency exchange rate of the Japanese yen is as follows:
- JPY 131.45 = USD1
- JPY 115.47 = Euro1
- JPY 188.28 = GBP1
- JPY 69.36 = AUD1
Representatives and other participants can exchange U.S. dollars, Euros, British pounds and Australian dollars at KICH. Credit cards such as VISA, American Express, Diner's Club, JCB and Master Card are accepted at major hotels, department stores and restaurants.
