9. Currency regulations
The Singapore dollar, which is at par with the Brunei dollar, is also accepted in Brunei. There are no restrictions on the import or export of money. The exchange rate is about B$1.75 = US$1.00 as of March 2001.

Major credit cards are accepted in hotels and restaurants.
10. Climate and clothing
Brunei Darussalam has an equatorial climate, characterized by a uniform temperature, high humidity and heavy rainfall. Daily temperature averages between 22°C and 28°C.
Light clothing is advisable as climate is generally warm and humid. Women are asked to dress modestly in keeping with local customs.
For official functions, dark suits are required. National costume is acceptable.
Malay is the national language but English is widely used in trade, tourism and commerce.
