5. Passport and visa
All visitors entering Brunei Darussalam must have a passport or other valid travel documents. Travellers holding the following passports can enter without visas as long as they have onward tickets.

Nationals of Australia, Cambodia, China, Fiji, French Polynesia, Guam, Hong Kong (China), Kiribati, the Lao People's Democratic Republic, Macao (China), Northern Mariana Islands, Marshall Islands, the Federated States of Micronesia, Mongolia, Nauru, New Caledonia, Niue, Palau, Papua New Guinea, Portugal, Samoa, Solomon Islands, Thailand, Tokelau, Tonga, Tuvalu, Vanuatu, Viet Nam and Wallis and Futuna must obtain visas from the nearest Embassy of Brunei Darussalam. Special arrangements can also be made with the Government of Brunei Darussalam to obtain visas on arrival at Bandar Seri Begawan, Brunei Darussalam. Such requests must be sent to the Government of Brunei Darussalam at least one and a half months before arrival, with a photocopy of the passport of the applicant and two (2) passport-sized photos, to enable the Government to authorize the immigration counters in advance and to send the necessary authority to applicants which will be honoured by the airline at the port of embarkation. These special arrangements can be provided for representatives and other participants from all countries including those without diplomatic relations with Brunei Darussalam. (This is the current procedure for applying for a visa on arrival. Representatives and other participants will be informed if there are any changes to this procedure.)
