The Regional Committee,

         Having considered the report of the Regional Director on the development of health research;*

         Recalling resolution WPR/RC40.R7 on the development of health research;

1. ENDORSES the recommendations of the Western Pacific Advisory Committee on Health Research at its thirteenth session;
2. REQUESTS the Regional Director to implement the recommendations of the Western Pacific Advisory Committee on Health Research if, the relevant resources are available;
3. URGES Member States to undertake priority health research whose results can immediately be applied for their benefit.
