The Regional Committee,

         Bearing in mind the spirit of resolution WPR/RC24.R10 on the sessions of the Regional Committee, which limits the number of sessions to be held outside the regional headquarters to one every two years;

         Noting that several countries and areas have expressed their wish to act as host for a session of the Regional Committee outside the Regional Office;

1. EXPRESSES its appreciation to the Government of Japan for confirming its offer to act as host to the forty-second session of the Regional Committee;
2. CONFIRMS that the forty-second session will be held in Japan provided a satisfactory agreement can be concluded between the Government and WHO;
3. DECIDES that the dates of the forty-second session shall be from 10 to 16 September 1991;
4. EXPRESSES its appreciation to the Government of Hong Kong for its offer to act as host for the forty-third session of the Regional Committee in 1992;
5. ACCEPTS, without prejudice to the provision of resolution WPR/RC24.R10, the invitation of the Government of Hong Kong provided a satisfactory agreement can be concluded between the Government and WHO.
