Streamlining Programme Implementation

         The Regional Committee,

         Having considered the interim report of the Regional Director on budget performance in the 1988-1989 biennium;*

         Noting with satisfaction the trend in the implementation rate of activities planned;

         Recognizing the need to minimize the administrative delays and paperwork involved in planning and implementation;

  1. URGES Member States, in consultation with WHO, to prepare timely and detailed proposals for collaborative activities;
  2. REQUESTS the Regional Director to study ways of simplifying administrative procedures so as to increase the timeliness and effectiveness of the collaboration of WHO and Member States in carrying out programmes, and to promote more efficient monitoring of implementation.
