The Regional Committee,

         Noting that the periods of tenure as members of the Sub-Committee on Programmes and Technical Cooperation of the representatives of Australia, China, Cook Islands, Japan, Samoa and the United States of America end at the thirty-ninth session of the Regional Committee,

1. DECIDES:

   (1) to reduce the membership of the Sub-Committee from ten to eight, of which four shall carry out the country visit;

   (2) to appoint the representatives of Brunei Darussalam, Solomon Islands, United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland and Vanuatu as members of the Sub-Committee for three years from the thirty-ninth session, recalling that the other four members, whose periods of tenure expire in 1989, are the representatives of New Zealand, Papua New Guinea, the Philippines and Viet Nam;

2. THANKS the representatives of Australia, China, Cook Islands, Japan, Samoa and the United States of America for their services to the Sub- Committee.
