National Drug Policies

         The Regional Committee,

         Noting resolutions WHA41.16, WHA41.17, WHA41.18 and WHA41.19, which deal with various aspects of the application of drug policies in the field of health;

         Aware of the implementation of an integrated and comprehensive national drug policy in the Philippines and of similar recent developments in Member States of this and other regions;

  1. URGES Member States to cooperate with each other in the development and implementation of national policies related to the effective and safe use of pharmaceuticals in the pursuit of health goals;
  2. INVITES concerned national and international organizations - both governmental and nongovernmental - especially those of the health professions, to participate in the development and implementation of national drug policies appropriate to the country situation;
  3. REQUESTS the Regional Director to strengthen collaboration with Member States in developing and implementing integrated national drug policies taking into account WHO's revised drug strategy by providing forums for Member States to exchange experience in this field.
