The Regional Committee,

         Recognizing the outstanding contribution of Dr. Hiroshi Nakajima to the promotion of health in the Western Pacific Region,

1. EXPRESSES its appreciation to Dr. Nakajima for his unfailing dedication and his efficient management of WHO's work in the Western Pacific Region during the past nine years;
2. REAFFIRMS its confidence in his leadership and its support for him as Director-General of the World Health Organization.
