WHO's Public Image

         The Regional Committee,

         Affirming that health officials, health workers, WHO staff, and the staff of various international and nongovernmental organizations all have a role to play in promoting among the general public and the political leadership the humanitarian and constructive ideals for which WHO stands, as an organization dedicated to the achievement of health for all;

  1. ENDORSES the proposed plan of action to promote WHO's public image;
  2. URGES Member States, in cooperation with WHO, to make full use of opportunities such as World Health Day and other significant events involving WHO to issue public statements and promote activities that further advance the cause of health and, as a consequence, reinforce WHO's image as the global authority on health issues;
  3. REQUESTS the Regional Director to undertake information and advocacy activities that will at the same time further the cause of health for all and project the image of WHO to the widest possible audience, particularly at country level;
  4.
