The Regional Committee,

         Recalling resolution WPR/RC32.R7, on WHO's structures in the light of its functions, in which the Regional Director was requested to include a review of mechanisms for improving the interrelationship between the Regional Committee, the Executive Board and the World Health Assembly on the agenda of a future session of the Regional Committee;

         Having reviewed Part II of the Report of the Sub-Committee on the General Programme of Work, and in particular the action taken to implement operative paragraph 3 of resolution WHA33.17, on WHO's structures in the light of its functions;***

         Having also reviewed the Regional Director's report in connexion with the tentative provisional agenda of the seventy-first session of the Executive Board;*

1. CONSIDERS that the request contained in resolution WPR/RC32.R7 is fulfilled by the reports mentioned above and the inclusion on the agenda of the present session of the Regional committee of the following items:

   (1) WHO's structures in the light of its functions;

   (2) correlation of the work of the World Health Assembly, the Executive Board and the Regional Committee;

2. NOTES with satisfaction the evolving mechanisms for improving the interrelationship between the three governing bodies;
3. REQUESTS the Regional Director to continue to report on the efforts made to improve such mechanisms.
