Twenty-fifth session


Technical Presentation

         The Regional Committee,

         Having reviewed the purpose and procedures of the Technical Discussions of the Regional Committee;

         Recalling resolution WPR/RC3.R14 * which resolved that Technical Discussions should be a part of the agenda in future sessions of the Regional Committee;

         Believing that the Technical Discussions can in future be further oriented towards the particular interest of the Member countries of the Region,

  1. DECIDES that the Technical Discussions will henceforth be supplanted by Technical Presentations which will have the following features:
    (a) the topic for the presentation will deal with a special subject, or a health problem and/or approaches to a health problem, and will be selected by the Regional Committee one year in advance;
    (b) the topic will be presented by one or two recognized experts who preferably should be familiar with the situation existing in the Western Pacific Region;
    (c) a Technical Presentation will be scheduled during each session of the Regional Committee;
  2. REQUESTS the Regional Director:
    (a) to select the experts in consultation with the Chairman of the Regional Committee;
    (b) to make the necessary budgetary provision, if required;
    (c) to arrange the first Technical Presentation at the twenty-sixth session of the Regional Committee in 1975.
