The Regional Committee,
Having considered the resolution WHA27.52 adopted by the Twenty-seventh World Health Assembly, *
Noting that the implementation of this resolution is primarily incumbent upon WHO Headquarters,
- REQUESTS the Director-General to give priority in WHO's intensified research activities to schistosomiasis and filariasis which are prevalent in the Western Pacific Region;
- INVITES the governments of those countries where the disease are endemic to assist the Organization in carrying out these activities.
