Quality of Water and Food in International Aviation

         The Regional Committee,

         Having considered:

(a) the report of the Regional Director on the quality of water and food in international aviation, * and
(b) the resolution adopted by the Twenty-seventh World Health Assembly on the safety of food and water and handling of wastes in international traffic, **
  1. RECOGNIZES that, although considerable improvements have been achieved over recent years, there is no room for complacency. There is a need for further improvement and constant vigilance to ensure that high standards are reached and maintained;
  2. NOTES with satisfaction that the Director-General is vigorously pursuing action towards the improvement of existing practices and the establishment of international microbiological standards for food.
