The Regional Committee,

         Having studied the report presented by the Regional Director on the establishment of a Technical Advisory Committee on Nursing, *

1. RECOGNIZES the value of:

   (1) examining the present system of preparation and utilization of nursing /midwifery personnel in relation to manpower needs; and

   (2) formulating guidelines on the action which might be taken by WHO to promote and strengthen nursing/midwifery programmes in countries and territories of the Region;

2. ENDORSES the establishment of a Technical Advisory Committee on Nursing;
3. REQUESTS the Regional Director to include this proposal in the 1973 List of Additional Projects and to upgrade it should savings become available.
