The Regional Committee,

         Having examined the report on dental epidemiology and national dental services presented by the Administration of Papua New Guinea, *

1. NOTES that a multi-phased inter-country dental health programme is being carried out at regional level;
2. NOTES further that WHO Headquarters is endeavouring to develop a standardized international methodology for dental surveys and that a WHO scientific group on research in dental health will meet in Geneva early next year to advise the Director-General on how to develop a global dental epidemiology programme;
3. EXPRESSES its appreciation to the Administration of Papua and New Guinea for having brought this matter to the attention of the Committee.
