The Regional Committee,
- Having examined the programme and budget estimates proposed for the Western Pacific Region in 1965 * and the report of the Sub-Committee on Programme and Budget, **
- 1. ENDORSES the proposed programme under the regular budget and those proposed to be financed from the Malaria Eradication Special Account and the Special Account for the Community Water Supply Programme;
- 2. NOTES the programme proposed to be financed under the Expanded Programme or Technical Assistance; and
- 3. AGREES that the following inter-country group educational activities are important and should be undertaken in 1965;
- Filariasis seminar
- Seminar on helminthic diseases
- Seminar on haemorrhagic fevers
- Seminar on health planning in urban development
- Nursing conference on guides for staffing of nursing services and methods of study
- Seminar on leprosy;
- 4. NOTES that the costing of the above is based on their being held in Manila, and
- 5. DECIDES that if a government wishes to serve as host to any inter- country group educational activity, the additional expenses involved should be met by the government concerned;
- Having studied the supplementary list of projects, which were requested by governments, including those brought forward during the meeting, which could not be accommodated within the regional allocation for 1965,
- 1. BELIEVES that these projects should be considered part of the regional programme;
- 2. REQUESTS the Regional Director to implement as many of the projects in the supplementary list as possible, as and when funds are available;
- REQUESTS the Regional Director to transmit the proposals to the Director-General.
