1955 Programme Priorities

         The Regional Committee,

         GIVES the Regional Director authority to establish priorities in 1955 for projects of regional significance, or those planned and in which Governments have made commitments or where commitments in a project have involved other international organizations subject to the availability of additional funds;

         (1) To continue to assist in strengthening national health administrations;

         (2) To continue assistance to education and training programmes;

         (3) Both the above should be related where possible to Region-wide disease control programmes; and

         (4) In allocating priorities to these programmes, high priorities should be given to ensuring the maximum aid for the control of smallpox, tuberculosis, yaws, venereal diseases, and nutritional diseases.
